Debris Linux - Stable Release
Debris Linux is an installable LiveCD containing a full set of applications to get your work done online and offline.
The latest stable release of
Debris Linux is
2.0.
It contains the following software:
- Desktop: GNOME with Openbox as window manager (instead of Metacity), or Openbox standalone.
Openbox is not compatible with Compiz, though! If you want visual effects, you have to install Metacity again and start the regular gnome-session.
- Word Processor: AbiWord (with ODF import/export and PDF export)
- Spreadsheet: Gnumeric (with ODF import/export)
- Document Viewer: ePDFViewer
- Image Viewer: GQView
- Media Player: Audacious
- CD/DVD writer (GUI): Brasero

- E-Mail Client: Claws Mail
- Instant Messaging/Chat: Pidgin

- Custom Installer DebI - lets you install Debris Linux to your harddrive

e.g:
- xorg.config: easy (re)build X configuration
- build-fstab: easy (re)build of /etc/fstab (list of partitions to be mounted)
- build-grubmenu: easy (re)build the menu of the boot loader, or add DL to an existing one (grub only)
